Donald Steinmetz

Age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 12, 2025 after a short illness.

Don grew up on the family farm in New Auburn, WI. He retired from Honeywell after 37 years of employment.

He enjoyed weekends at Lake Mille Lacs at their fish house/cabin that Don built. For a number of years, he enjoyed motorcycling with his wife, Sandi. In his later years, you would find Don working in his garage repairing lawn mowers and snowblowers for family and friends.

Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater where he was a longtime usher.

He is survived by his wife, Sandi; sons, Kerry (Maria) and Terry (Lori); daughter, Heidi (Scott) King; grandsons, Corey, Donald, II and Joshua (Monica); brother, Shirlyn (Gail); sister, Marlene (Chuck) Donaldson; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.

A celebration of Don’s life will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 1:00-5:00 P.M. at Don and Sandi’s home, 5835 Oldfield Avenue, Stillwater, MN 55082.
