Doreene Carter

Doreene Marie Carter, age 86, passed away on September, 5th, 2019. She was born in Winona, MN to Clifford and Augusta (Pohlmann) Murray. After graduating from Winona High School in 1951, Doreene lived in LaCrosse, WI and Trenton, MI before settling down in the Twin Cities in 1972 with her husband Richard (deceased in 1995). She spent nearly 40 years in the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis before moving in with her daughter, Cheri and son-in-law, Ray.

Doreene spent many years working in the Twin Cities restaurant industry as a restaurant manager and server. She was also a dedicated wife, animal lover, voracious reader, and avid collector of art and antiques.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Ray Davis of Ramsey, MN, her three grand daughters, Daira Hall and family of Orlando, FL, Meaghan Bugge and family of Gwinn, MI, and Brie Davis of Minneapolis, MN, her younger sister Karen Hanson and family of Eau Claire, WI, and her sister-in-law Mary Jo Murray and family of Winona, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, Augusta and Cliff, and her brother Sam, Murray
