Dorothy Lucus

Age 91, of Austin and Lanesboro (MN), passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. Dorothy was known for her warm smile, dedication to community service, and love of family gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Don. She is survived by her brother, Cliff (Deanna); and daughters, Jennifer (Larry), Cynthia (Steve), and Laurie (Rick); along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Dorothy dedicated herself to serving others through the League of Women Voters, the Red Cross, and Girl Scouts of America. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, where she led numerous projects and formed lasting friendships.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Waverly Gardens for providing a welcoming, supportive and enjoyable home and community for Dorothy for over a decade, and especially to the care center staff who so kindly assisted her in recent years.

A memorial service will be held in the Waverly Gardens chapel at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 20, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing after the service.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
