Dorothy Ann Sanetra
Age 96
Passed away peacefully at White Pine Assisted Living on September 21, 2023.
Dorothy was born on April 10, 1927 to Bob and Irene Ferris. She grew up in St. Paul.
Dorothy met Joe Sanetra on a blind date set up by Violet and Tom Percell. They were married in the Catholic Church soon after. They had many adventures together and traveled west occasionally. They bought a tiny lake home that they enjoyed for 21 years and when Joe retired, he built them a small retirement home on the lake lot that they enjoyed for another 21 years before they were forced to move back to the cities due to health issues.
Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her card club and bowling with her bowling team. She was even on 'Bowling for Dollars' a TV program for bowlers. She worked waitressing for many years and at Montgomery Wards for many years before she retired to their lake home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; son, Robert Sanetra; sisters, Mary Pat and Sally; and granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Gunderson.
She will be missed by her daughter, Susan; sister, Katheryn; and her grandchildren, Brandi Gunderson, Scott Gunderson, and Nick Sanetra.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday, November 10th at St. Helena Catholic Church, 3201 East 43rd St, Minneapolis, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
