Dr. Steven Wolff

For years Dr. Steven Wolff, a lifelong resident of Stillwater, thought he had found the secret to eternal life. He told friends and family that he was going to have his ashes thrown from the seemingly never-going-to-happen new bridge. However, in 2017 with the completion of the new Stillwater Bridge, he knew his days were numbered. Yet Steve continued boating on the river, playing cards, and frequenting local coffee shops. He delighted many with his sense of humor and his incredibly right, but sometimes dead wrong, pearls of wisdom. 

Steve died peacefully June 21, 2024. He was born to Ruth (Mallberg) and Emmett Wolff on February 7, 1947. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1965. Steve married his high school sweetheart Ann Parkhurst in 1969. They had three wonderful sons.

Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1973, Steve opened St. Croix Valley Dental in Stillwater where he practiced for 32 years. He found joy in helping his patients and their families. After retiring from practice, he taught at the U of M Dental School for another ten years. Steve loved helping to educate the next generation of dentists.

Steve was an active community member serving as president of the Stillwater Lions Club, St. Croix Valley affiliate of the American Heart Association, Trinity Lutheran Church Council, and Fairview Cemetery Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Gladys and her sons Wayne, Jerry, and Keith Allen. He will be missed by his family: Ann; Doug, Sara, Maverick and Olympia of St. Paul; Brad, Lesley, and Kingsley of California; Tom, Ashlane, and Snowë of Colorado; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Brian Junker and their family; and step-brother Bruce.

Service Sunday, July 14, 2024, 4:00 P.M. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 115 4th Street North, followed by a reception at the Lowell Inn Event Center, 102 Second St. North. Visitation Friday, July 12, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to The Partnership Plan for Stillwater Schools, the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Trinity Lutheran Church, The Pillars Hospice Home, or any place close to the donor’s heart.
