Passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2011, after a long journey with Alzheimers Disease, surrounded by his family. As a partner of St. Paul Surgeons, he served the Twin Cities community for over 25 years. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1962 and the U of M Medical School in 1966. After completing his surgery residency, he served in Vietnam. He loved his family, embraced the outdoors, and enjoyed working with his hands. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (nee Blanch); daughters, Jennifer Roy, Heidi Hubbard, and Elizabeth Roy Jenkyn; son, Chris Roy; grandchildren, Max, Madeline, Tom, Walter, Jane, Susan, Caitlyn, and Imogen; sisters, Barbara Hanssen and Alice Krane; step-mother, Sally Roy; and mother-in-law, Jean Blanch.. Memorial Service Saturday, 11:00 A.M at THE HOUSE OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 797 Summit Avenue, St. Paul. Reception following in the Kirk Parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Health East Foundation or the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, Memory Care. Special appreciation for the wonderful care received at the Wellstead of Rogers and, most recently, the Gables at Boutwells Landing.
