E. May Hamilton, born to Maude & Louis Hamilton, Lucas Co., Iowa 10/1/1921, died at Bethany Covenant Nursing Home, Minneapolis, 12/18/2011. Survived by sister, Frances (Hamilton) Peterson of Minneapolis; brother, James Hamilton of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Marge Hamilton of Arizona; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary (Lee) Pendergraph; and brothers, George, William (Barbara), Lester (Elizabeth), Stanley (Jane), Charles (Vera) and John (Leila).
Upon graduation from Chariton, Iowa, High School, May taught country school at Pucker Brush and Rabbit Ridge. She enjoyed teaching, and tried to keep her students interested in learning. May taught summer Bible school.
In the 1940's May attended Moody Bible Institute in Wheaton, IL, and moved to Saint Paul after graduation where she worked as a secretary. Wherever she lived, she held Bible Study classes. She was also active at Central Baptist Church in St. Paul.
May moved to Bethany Covenant Village in 2008, where she shared a room with her older sister. Her sister, Frances Peterson, and her niece, Lois Hamilton, were with her at the time of her death.
The family is grateful to the loving staff of Bethany Covenant Village for their care and support.
