Edith Tauer

Passed peacefully with family by her side on April 29, 2017 at Ecumen Lakeview Commons in Maplewood, MN. She was born on August 3, 1916.
Born in St Paul she was the daughter of Henry and Edith Welsch and a lifelong resident of St. Paul. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Raymond Tauer; grandson, Steven Tauer; and siblings, Henry (Bruts) Welsch, Marjorie Schreier and Ronald Welsch.
She is survived by children, Don Tauer, Maureen Tauer, JoAnn (Bob) Tauer Levy, and Peggy (Mike) Tauer Gehlen; siblings, Marie Zech, Katherine Puchleitner, Lorraine Jungbauer, Ruth Weyandt, Walter Welsch, and James Welsch; grandchildren, Donna Franssen, Dan Tauer, Julie (Brad) Caples-Wright, Suzie (Donna Luttrell) Levy, Scott (Jolene) Levy, Meghan (BJ) Nodson, Jenna (Brett) Mills; great grandchildren, Steven and Mitchell Franssen, Katie Tauer and Paige Caples, AJ and Kaden Levy, Aaron and Alex Mills.
Edith deeply loved her family and was the oldest of 10 children. She immensely enjoyed crocheting, being a member of a crocheting group teaching and others to crochet. She was an avid bowler and walked daily to Como with a close group friends. She also was a member of TOPS and enjoyed making friends and sharing time with members of the group.
Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Thursday, May 4, 2017 at THE CHURCH OF ST BERNARD 187 W. Geranium Ave. Visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
