Of Minneapolis, died July 31, 2010 at age 73. Born in Litchfield, MN, March 30, 1937 to Ruth (Turck) and Wallace Olson. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife of 50 years "Bonnie" Yvonne (Lifgren) Olson; son, Craig of Mpls; daughter, Lynne (Jerome) Pachoud; and granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Pachoud of Hillsdale, MI; sisters, Judith (Elmer) Mattson of Walnut Creek, CA, Cheryl (Calvin) Larson of Fergus Falls, MN, and Patricia (Dennis) Muehring of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Lou (Dennis) Johnson of Stillwater, MN; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A 1955 graduate of Cottonwood MN high school, a degree in Civil Engineering from U of MN, a structural engineer for Ellerbe Architects & Engineers in St. Paul & Bloomington, MN & other engineering firms before retirement on disability following a TBI in 1989.
Active member of Bethany Lutheran Church; served as treasurer for 29 years, several terms on church council, committees and choir. A very caring & thoughtful man, he organized "choir callers" to visit shut-ins & share devotions & song with them. Music always important to Ed; excellent on trombone, he played one year with the U of M marching band. He sang with the Apollo Male Chorus for 24 years.
Eddie approached life with great faith and courage facing whatever setback came his waya�"a loyal friend with a great smile, dry sense of humor, a tease and very much loved.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday, August 5 at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3901 36th Av. S., Mpls. Visitation Wednesday, August 4 (TODAY), 5-8 PM at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Av. S. and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Epilepsy Foundation of MN.
