Eleanor Mears

Eleanor was called to her heavenly home on November 23, 2016 at the age of 89. Born January 26, 1927 to Sidney and Helen Powell. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 69 years, Norman C. Mears, brother Donald and sister Lois Holth. Survived by sons Steven (Cathy), Norm (Robin), Don (Naomi), Bruce (Lynn) and daughter Carol; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Eleanor had a great life, and loved her north woods cabin, her homes in Florida, and her final residence at Boutwells Landing. The family wishes to thank special caregivers Erma, Carol and Darlene and Chaplain Larry. Memorials may be directed to Lakeview Hospice, the Union Gospel Mission, Animal Humane Society or donor's choice. Eleanor will be missed and her family will be honoring her with a private Celebration Of Life service in December.
