Elizabeth Anne (Murray) Bartz was born on March 5, 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Died on May 25, 2024 in Edina, MN at age 81. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. and Jean W. (Balcome) Murray and husband, Warren L. Bartz. Survived by sons Keith W. Bartz and Neil Bartz Tassoni (Alberto Orioles), grandchildren Rachel and Laura Bartz; Josephine, Beatrice and Simon Tassoni, Nico Orioles, and adored dog, Becket. Special thanks to the staff at The Waters and Park Nicollet Hospice for their care. Graduate of Alexander Ramsey High School (1961) and Augsburg College, cum laude (1982). Title 1, Minneapolis Public Schools educator.
Devoted and steadfast wife of 50 years, married September 29, 1962. Mother and grandmother who loved and cherished her family deeply. Keeper of family heritage, devotee of history generally, and world traveler. Dear Abby pen pal. Defender of the worthy underdog, small business, Coach purses, and PT Cruisers. "Bag, grass, miniatures," forever. Devoted member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church since 1962. Through lifetime gifts and bequests, Warren and Anne have created endowed funds for Mount Olive Lutheran Church Foundation, Concordia College-Moorhead, Augsburg University, and Carleton College.
Funeral service and celebration of life and music at 4:00 pm on June 9 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 3045 Chicago Ave. S. in Minneapolis. Visitation at 2:30 pm. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments at the church immediately following the service. Entombment on June 11 @ 9:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd., Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to benefit Mount Olive Lutheran Church Foundation.
