Elizabeth "Beth" Johnson

Elizabeth (Beth) Johnson of Minneapolis passed away on April 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Harry Johnson, her brother Peter Johnson and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister, Mary Muwahid, uncle, Joseph Cunningham, nieces and nephews Meghan Frehse (Mike), Fallie Bodine (Eric), Bo Muwahid (Kathleen), Tariq Muwahid (Britt), Amirah Gray (Qaasim), great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beth worked for Minneapolis Public Schools, St. Joseph's Home for Children, Holy Rosary Elementary School and the City of Minneapolis throughout her life. She also loved to volunteer for various youth groups where she was able to travel to one of her favorite places in the world, Disney World.

While Beth lived in Minneapolis her entire life, she loved Grand Marais and the North Shore. She traveled there as much as she could. She once told a story that on a visit to the North Shore, she got so lost in enjoying the view of the lake that she laid down on a rock for hours, until another visitor came by to check on her.

Family was everything to Beth. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own and would constantly take them on adventures knowing she had instructions not to. Between taking them to the park without strollers, taking buses to Mall of America, or even just down Lake Street to Target. She did it to see them smile and also to stress her sister out.

Beth was one of a kind and will truly be missed and cherished. She is loved deeply by all she has touched.
