Erik Allen Berger
October 21, 1990 — April 12, 2024
St. Paul, Minnesota
Erik Allen Berger passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the age of 33. Erik was born October 21, 1990 and leaves a staggering legacy. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Linda Berger, and brothers Mark (Jess), and Scott (Sarah), and four adoring nieces and nephews, Sadie, Cohen, Stella, and Miles. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Modie and Jada. Erik lived in St. Paul, after growing up in Edina and Medicine Lake, MN. Erik was known for his trademark sharp, unfiltered wit. Erik was foundational to the Minnesota car enthusiast community, a discerning car collector, and largely self-taught master mechanic. Erik worked as a sophisticated IT professional and architectural drafter, being dubbed the “heart and soul” of his employer. While Erik joyfully spent the bulk of his free time at the Automotorplex car condos in Chanhassen, he cared about his local community in St. Paul, and quickly befriended his neighbors--both human and feline. Erik was a notable member of online communities, including the cryptocurrency community where he went by the moniker “Ovalbore Tech,” co-host of the “Carbitrage” car culture podcast, and was also the popular YouTube personality “Ovalbore.” A celebration of life and pop-up car show for Erik will be held on April 28, 2024, 1-5 p.m. at the Hutton House in Medicine Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Feline Rescue of St. Paul, felinerescue.org.
