Eugene “Gene” Lloyd Dickinson

Age 93 of Stillwater

Passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022.

Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Dolores, on September 9, 2022; daughter, Terri Schmidt; parents, Lloyd and Freida Dickinson; brother and sister-in-law, Donley and Martha Dickinson; and niece, Kandy Dickinson.

He is survived by children, Paul (Paula), Gayle (Richard) Ressler; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Janet), Aaron (Dani), Ashley (Brian) Barker, Jacob (Tricia) Ressler, Benjamin Ressler, James (Jen) Heath, Ellen (Nick) Schmidt, Emily Schmidt; 9 great-grandchildren, Brayden Dickinson, Brody Dickinson, Norah Barker, Lucy Barker, Orin Barker, Mackenzie Ressler, Ashton Heath, Annabelle Heath, Avan Heath; nieces, Kathy Dickinson, Karen Cameron; many other relatives and friends.

Gene attended business school in Mpls. His first job upon graduating was with Northern State Power Co. Gene retired from NSP after being employed in power plant offices for almost 40 continuous years. Gene’s quiet strength was displayed in the ways he chose to serve his family and community. As a Boy Scout leader of 30+ years, he was proud of his 26 Eagle Scouts. BSA awarded him the Order of the Arrow and Silver Beaver. Gene joined the Stillwater Rotary Club in 1972 and served as both Club President and District Governor.Gene and Dolores were members of First Baptist Church of Mpls their entire married life where Gene served as Deacon and Usher.

A gathering to celebrate Gene and Dolores’ life will be held 3-6pm Thursday, October 6th at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with a time of sharing at 5pm. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
