Hall, Francis "Frank"
Age 87, of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away in the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 14, 2007 from Alzheimer's complications. He was born in Farmington, Minnesota on February 20, 1920 and his family later moved to Mpls. where Frank entered CC Camp to help the family during the depression. He granduated from South High School in 1939. The Milwaukee Railroad was privileged to have this loyal and dedicated man for 35 years. During this time on the railroad Frank served in the Air Force during WWII.
In 1950 Frank started "The Diner" which was in operation until 2006. Throughout his life, Frank was successful in many business ventures, including resturants, real estate, remodeling homes, a car wash and lumber yard in Farmington, MN. Retirement was not for this man. Frank was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Aerie #34.
His hobbies were dancing, which he did 3 to 4 times weekly. Polkas and waltz were his favorite. How proud he was when his daughters would meet him at the Eagles and dance with him. His daughters were overheard saying "you dance with hime first, he wears me out". And now the girls are saying "If I could dance with my father again I would play a song that would never end because I would love to dance with my father again." He cared for his aging mother and father until their deaths. Attending to his beloved "Diner resturant's" needs was his first love and he so enjoyed having his family and friends come to his restaurant and share a a meal and conversation, sometimes asking everyone in his family their opinion about something, and then doing it his way. We love him. Frank was a free spirit, always looking for a challenge. He was one of God's special angels, touching all of those he met along his path. Every morning he would look in the mirror and say, "How am I doing. Don't give me any lies. I am doing O.K. I am satisfied." Frank will be remembered for his humorous happy spirit as well as his love for the elderly, children, animals, music and family and friends.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Darlene Hall Follese (Jim), Joan Hall Westling, and Gayle Hall Lane (Randy); son, Frank T. Hall; 7 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; Micki his sweetheart and Marjorie his beloved friend. Also by his many other friends, cousins, nieces, loyal employees, his many dedicated customers, and his new family from Ebenezer Hall and hospice who provided care and comfort. Frank's accomplishments were many, but none as great as the example he set for all of us. With God in his heart, he walked through life with courage, integrity and a sense of humor. Come and celebrate his life with his family and friends. Funeral service 11:30 AM Thursday, July 19, 2007 at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. S., Mpls. Interment Ft.
