Ms. Freddie Mae Mays was born to the late Sammie Young and Willie Ann Rodgers, on May 24,1961 in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended St. Louis and E. St. Louis Public schools. She worked as a Nursing Assistant and then moved on to doing housekeeping.

Ms. Mays spent her earlier years in Missouri and Illinois, before settling in Minnesota in 1992 where she made her home for the last 28 years.

Freddie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kashita Gemiya Mays, siblings: Hattie Barnes, Larry Mays, Robert Mc Kinney, and Vella Mae Mays.

Freddie passed peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Kalino Baker and Yashita (Ralph)Houston, of St. Paul, Minnesota. Her grandchildren: Ayanna Moore, Jimmie Bivins Jr., Kalina Johnson, Kalayiah, Kali’jah, Kalino Jr., Kalil, Kalaiyvon, and Kyviontae Baker. Her Siblings: Lillie (David) Dixon, and Eddie Mays of E. St. Louis, IL;and Margaret Myles, and Sammie (Annette)Young of St. Paul, MN, and her close companion for many years Terrance Tyrone Kerney. Her best friends Rubie, Vivian, and Shirley. A host of devoted nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 3PM at Bradshaw Funeral Home (4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, Minnesota 55127). Visitation will be held from 1PM until the time of service.
