Gail Brostrom, age 77, passed away on January 25th, 2025 after a long and valiant battle with dementia.
Gail was born October 29th, 1947 in Fargo, ND, to Myron and Beverly (Kyllo) Bjelverud. Gail was well known for her vivacious personality, continual willingness to help others, and when needed, providing a dose of very sarcastic wit. Upon graduating high school in Berthold, ND she attended college to obtain bachelors, masters, and PhD degrees in Business Education. She taught at the Detroit Lakes Vocation Technology center, Utah State University, and the College of St. Catherine's. Gail was very active in the records management field, ARMA professional organization, and had obtained her Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification. Gail was also an instructor and advisor for an on-line course in records management for Gatlin Education and served on the CRM examination committee.
Gail was a twenty year employee of Excel Energy (formerly North States Power) as records supervisor and as records and print area manager. Gail met Myles Brostrom while attending graduate school at the University of North Dakota. After a five month courtship, Gail accepted Myles' proposal to wed which they accomplished at Moorhead, Minnesota in 1982. She is survived by her husband Myles; daughter, Cyndi Bartholomew (Chris Gordon) and family, Lilith and Aleister; sister, Joan (Gordy) Olson, brother-in-law Mark (Theresa) Brostrom; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Gail's life will be held April 26 from 1 to 3pm at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center in Stillwater. In lieu of flowers and memorials, the family asks that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
