Gail L. Grunnet
71, passed away on April 22, 2017 at Little Hospice in Edina following a courageous battle with melanoma.

Gail Lee Stoltz was born on Dec. 1, 1945 to Dr. C. Rodney and Virginia (Cotton) Stoltz in Oak Ridge, TN. Gail was raised in Watertown, SD and graduated from the University of Iowa. She married James Grunnet on Nov. 30, 1970 in Watertown. They moved to Edina and raised two sons.
Gail was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis for nearly 50 years where she was active in the children's ministry, choir, quilting, Soul Lib and Bible Study. Gail was a mentor in Prison Ministry, a member of PEO, Laughing Girls, and various book clubs. She was a well-loved 'singing sister' of Good Samaritan Singers/BRAVA! for 22 years. She enjoyed traveling; she also loved spending time with her family, which extended to her daughter-in-law's family, for virtually all holidays, activities and vacations. She taught preschool for 14 years at House of Prayer Lutheran Preschool. For over five years she resided at Applewood Point in Bloomington and was actively involved in many activities there. Gail touched the life of each person that she met!
Survivors include her husband Jim; sons, Stephen and Peter (Kirsten); beloved grandchildren, Isaac, Maren, and Anna; Gail's brother, Dr. C. Roger (Beverly) Stoltz; nieces, Christine/"Chree" Taylor, Michelle (Noah) Everist, Melissa (David) Bechhoefer, and Maura (Asif/"Tito") Hasan; sister-in-law, Dr. Margaret Grunnet Einhorn. Gail had a special and close relationship with daughter in-law Kirsten's family, including Kirsten's parents, Dan and Karen Rasmussen, Kirsten's sister, Kyla (Tim) Sikorski and their children Luella and Katja, and Kirsten's brother, Kevin Rasmussen. Gail was preceded by her parents and in-laws (Grace and Leslie Grunnet), brother-in-law, Irving Einhorn, and beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Gail had cherished friends too numerous to mention.
A celebration of Gail's life will be Saturday, April 29 at 2 pm at Park Ave United Methodist Church, 3400 Park Avenue South, Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
