70, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness surrounded by family on 9/21/2017 in St. Paul, MN. Gary was born on August 23, 1947 in Bayport, MN to Elmer & Betty Simonson. In 1969, Gary married Marilyn (Polnau) and together they raised Todd & Rebecca. Gary is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Todd; daughter, Rebecca and son-in-law, Daniel (Matschina); grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas & Ella; sister, Karen Erickson (Britt); also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends. Gary worked at Andersen Windows for 35 years, was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a former Bayport Legion Commander and proud Bayport Troop 113 Eagle Scout. Visitation will be 4-8pm on Thursday, Sept. 28th at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, Sept. 29th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 490 N. 4th St, Bayport with visitation one hour before. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to Dr. Vercellotti and Dr. Arora and staff of the U of M BMT Center and Dr. Kumar & staff at Lakeview Oncology.
