Gary Thomas
After suffering complications from a tragic fall, Gary Thomas left us on September 15, 2018. Gary was born in Duluth, MN on August 30, 1963 to John and Ann Thomas. Several years younger than his six siblings, Gary was a delightful addition to the family.
Gary attended school in Duluth, graduating from Duluth Central High. He continued his education in White Bear Lake, graduating as a certified dental lab technician. His drive for perfection and artistic ability made him the perfect lab technician. Gary worked in the dental field for many years, working last in Anoka, MN for Kadlec Lab. Several years ago Gary changed course and put his carpentry skills to work. He operated his own remodeling business until his death.
Always active, Gary loved the outdoors and animals. His Australian shepherd Sophie was a dear companion to him. Gary was also musical and loved to travel. He had the passport stamps to prove it!
In part, because of solid values modeled to him by his parents, Gary will be remembered as hard-working, loyal, tender-hearted, and generous with his resources and time. Even though physically gone, Gary lives on. Because of his love and concern for others Gary was an organ donor. Gary's heart will be beating in the chest of a 56 year old female, his lungs breathing for a 36 year old male, his liver functioning for a 54 year old male, and his kidneys giving life back to 2 others, ages 51 and 70. What a blessing to so many!
He will be sorely missed by his wife, Tekwam; brothers, Greg (Lynn), John (Gretchen), Larry (Nancy); sister, Cathy; sister-in-law, Mary; several nieces, nephews, and good friends. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ann Thomas, brother Roger Thomas, infant sister Kathleen Thomas and sister-in-law BJ Thomas. Special thanks to Rosemary and Amy!
Service Thursday, September 20, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul.
