Hase, Gayanne L.
Received into Heaven on November 21, 2024, age 84. Preceded in death by parents, William and Lorraine Hardey. Survived by children, Jennifer (Chris) Suedbeck and Tony (Katrina) Hase; grandchildren, Zachary (Ashley) Suedbeck, Josh (Alyssa) Suedbeck, and Ian (Ariel) Hase; sisters, Jan Breuer, Tallis Bania, and Lynne Hardey; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great niece.
Gayanne graduated St. Margaret's Academy in 1958 and continued at the University of Minnesota to study accounting.
One of Gayanne's most significant accomplishments was balancing a demanding full-time job while raising two children as a single parent. A dedicated financial analyst at General Mills, she retired in June 2000 after 33 years with the company. During her tenure, she provided a stable and inspiring foundation for her family, a legacy reflected in her children's success-both of whom graduated from college, with one earning an advanced degree.
Gayanne was a constant presence at her grandsons' band concerts, football games, wrestling matches, and mountain bike races, often standing out as the loudest and proudest voice in the cheering section. Her quick wit and fiery personality charmed them as toddlers, while her unwavering love and support fostered a bond that inspired their lifelong admiration and devotion.
Gayanne's zest for life was evident in the epic adventures she pursued over the years, including skydiving, whitewater rafting, drag racing, and traveling the world with her sister and friends. Her love of adventure extended to her everyday life, as she frequently enjoyed rounds of golf at Pheasant Acres. There, she delighted in friendly banter with the "Fast 5" and tirelessly aimed to sink her signature hot pink Lady Bridgestone golf balls. In her downtime, Gayanne amassed countless "frequent flyer miles" on her library card, wore down pencils solving crosswords, and triumphantly conquered jigsaw puzzles.
Gayanne lived a private life rooted in charity and faith. She was a devoted member of her Catholic community, attending weekly Mass and generously donating to the church, even during her years as a single mother on a fixed income. Beyond her faith, she dedicated herself to service, spending 10 years as secretary for the Sundance Women's Golf League and volunteering for over a decade with the General Mills Retirees, where she organized and recorded their volunteer hours.
