Geneva "Jennie" Flood
Age 91 of Maplewood, Minnesota, passed away November 26, 2023 and is now in our lord's hands.
She was born June 8, 1932 in Wytheville, Virginia. Her mother (Helen), father (John "Mick"), sister (Mary) and daughter (Cynthia) preceded her in death.
Jennie was a friendly, generous, compassionate and caring mother with a huge heart who did her best to help others. A highly intelligent woman who loved to read, especially romance novels and her bible. She was a lively, independent and determined woman who worked hard, loved to have fun, explore new places, work with animals and socialize with family. Jennie frequently taught ball room dancing and polka in South Dakota. She was a true creative spirit; she delighted in crafting and learning how to use business computer applications. Jennie earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Sioux Falls College and worked many years in accounting, business management and as a controller. She also found she enjoyed the Real Estate business and subsequently became a graduate of the Pasco School of Real Estate and the Elgin Real Estate School of Appraising in Florida. Virtually anything she had a mind to do, she would learn to accomplish with zeal. Jennie cherished her grandchildren, Ariell Barker (Texas), and Joshua Flood (Colorado). She and her boundless spirit will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son Michael (Peggy); granddaughter Ariell (Kevin); grandson Joshua; great-granddaughters Kalina, Austyn, Emmaline, and Cortlynn; and other loving family and friends.
