George Knuteson

George A. Knuteson of Hugo, MN passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2024. Preceded in death by parents Emmett and Florence, siblings Roy and Fran Parker. He is survived by his loving wife Marillyn (née Wicklund); sons Dan (Erin) and Eric (Mary); grandchildren Asher, Lauren (Christian) Timm, Ava, Chloe and Audrey.

George grew up in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Industrial Psychology. During a successful career in the individual and business insurance industry, he started the OakGLIDE Swing Company which developed into WhisperGLIDE Swing Company, providing wheelchair-accessible swings to healthcare facilities throughout the USA, Canada and Bermuda, especially in Special Needs.

George enjoyed woodworking, creative projects, telling jokes and consistently socializing with family and friends. He always said he wanted two statements on his gravestone- "Dead tired" and "Thank you for not smoking".

Celebration of Life will take place at Bradshaw Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater on Saturday, June 1st. Visitation 1pm, followed by 2pm memorial service, then 3pm George's make your own ice cream sundaes and rootbeer floats.

In lieu of memorials or flowers, George would ask you to spend time with your own family and friends. Life goes fast, enjoy it while you can.
