George Muntean

February 27, 1927 -- December 20, 2006

Died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by wife, Jean; and brother, Paul. Survived by brother, Dan (Vivi); children, Nancy (Robert) Kinning, January (Steve) Furry, Nick (Carol) and Jim; grandchildren, Bill (Heidi), Tom (Shannon), Chris, Heather, David, and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Brady, Zachary, and Hailey; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was a longtime Rice Street businessman, working 40 plus years in the family-run department store. He was a lifetime member of St Mary?s Romanian Orthodox Church, member of VFW Post #3877 and American Legion Post #572. George will be remembered for his kind loving nature and always taking the high road. He was always ready with a joke, and never forgot a name or face. It was rare that he didn?t encounter someone he knew whenever he traveled. He will be greatly missed.

1078 Rice at Magnolia. Prayer Service 7:00 P.M. Funeral Saturday, 10:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW and Services10:30 A.M. at SAINT MARY?S ROMANIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, Woodbridge at Atwater Streets. Interment Oakland Cemetery.
