Gerald Nolde

On Thursday, September 13, 2018, Gerald T. Nolde, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 88. Gerald died peacefully close to family and friends.
Gerald was born on February 3, 1930 in Stillwater, MN to Joseph and Meyrl Nolde (Runk). He spent his entire life in the Stillwater area except for those months he wintered with his wife in Texas. He worked his entire life at Andersen Window Corporation, beginning there at the age of 16. Gerald served in the US Army during the Korean War and received notable recognition. On September 26, 1953, he married Evangeline A. Peplinski. They raised three sons, Michael, Thomas and David and two daughters, Theresa and Kathleen.
Gerald had a passion for the military, especially for the time he spent in Korea. He was a proud and active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in the Stillwater area. Gerald also had a love of nature, everything from gardening to watching the wildlife that walked by his house. He was a lifelong member and supporter of St Mary's Catholic Church. Friends and family will always remember Gerald as a caring, generous and loyal man.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Evangeline; his five children, Theresa (Carl) Blondin, Michael (Colleen), Thomas, David and Kathleen; several grandchildren, Alexandra, Christine, David and Anna; and his sisters, Sister Merle Nolde, OSB and Elizabeth Nolde.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11:00 AM at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 423 5th St S, Stillwater with visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will immediately follow Mass for guests. Memorials preferred to the family.
