Gloria "Jean" Timmermann

Gloria “Jean” Timmermann, 87, passed away September 4, 2023. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Timmermann.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Timmermann Goodpaster (James), Paul Timmermann, Muriel Timmermann, John Timmermann; four grandchildren; two great grandsons; and her partner of the past 17 years, Bruce Oliver.

Professionally, Jean was a Registered Nurse having graduated from a nursing school in Milwaukee. Early on she worked in a hospital setting but most of her career she spent in long term care as a Director of Nursing and in quality assurance for several HMOs in Minnesota.

Affectionately known as Goodles by her grandchildren, Jean’s family was especially important to her.  Sunday dinners at her home and her famous mashed potatoes are something she will be remembered for.  Jean also learned to cook from her German born mother. Consequently, German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage, Rouladen, and stoellen are part of the family traditions her children will carry forward.  Bruce also enjoyed those family dinners and more recently the two of them have enjoyed eating out at favorite restaurants. Sharels was a lunch time favorite most every day. 

In her younger days, family vacations that included camping and trips to the mountains were favorites. Later in life, Jean also enjoyed motorcycling with Howard and her son, John, again often beautiful trips to the mountains.

Music was a large part of her life. She met Howard at church acapella choir and continued to sing in choirs through much of her life. She also enjoyed listening to music. A favorite every year with Jean and Bruce was to attend a concert of the Trans Siberian Orchestra.  In retirement, she could often be found listening to her music CDs and knitting, crocheting or reading in her favorite recliner.

In honor of her life and her impact on our hearts a memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday September 14^th at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation beginning at 10am. A lite lunch will be served after the service.
