Harriet Mae Dolny

Harriet was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She went to be with our Savior on October 11th at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her siblings Mervyn, Harold, Kenneth, Arnie and Marcella, and by her loving husband, Leonard. She is survived by daughter Lizann Anderson (Ken), and grandsons Aaron (Tere), Kyle (Jules), and Erik (Hope).

Harriet grew up on a dairy farm in Wilson Wisconsin the youngest of six. Her mother died when she was young, so she was the chief cook for her father, brothers and farm help. She eventually came to the cities and worked as a book keeper. She was set up on a blind date where she met Lenny. Her brother & Lenny's brother were in the Air Force together and set them up. It was a good match, as they were married 69 years, hoping to celebrate their 70th, when Lenny passed.

She loved to entertain, be with her family, especially her grandsons, and to travel. She was known for her parties and family get- togethers. She LOVED to take pictures! You knew if she was at an event, there would be pictures taken, and that you would probably receive duplicates. She was like a wedding planner before they came in vogue: she could plan the meal, elegantly set the tables and take the pictures!

The last 1 ½ years had been tough for her with various health issues. She often said "do not cry at my funeral as I am ready to join Lenny, my friends and family in heaven."

Celebration of Life Wednesday Oct. 25, 5 PM with a visitation one hour prior at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake. Dinner to follow.
