Age 95 of Boutwells
Passed away Nov. 15, 2016 at Boutwells Gables. Helen Ruth Haeusler Hadd was born April 11, 1921 to Ruth Swain and Harry Haeusler in St. Paul. She attended White Bear High School and Macalester College. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother and Granny. She enjoyed so many things including sewing, cooking for friends & family, plays, travel, bowling, golf, and volunteering. She loved nature, and volunteered at Lee and Rose Warner Nature Center for over 20 years. She was a military wife and lived all over the country and world while raising a family. She and Harry settled at Marine on St. Croix and then Boutwells community in Oak Park Heights.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry (Colonel USMC retired); son, James Richard; brothers, Kenneth and Dean Haeusler. Helen will be greatly missed by her family: son, Harry "Hap" (Kayleen) Hadd, Lancaster, VA; daughter, Linda (Gordon) Brown, Maplewood, MN; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hadd Portland, OR, Ryan (Katie) Hadd Richmond, VA, Kevin (Alyssa) Hadd, Richmond, VA, Heather (Omar) Reece, Hudson, WI; Samantha (Joshua) Brown-Bodie, Roseville, MN; Gordon (Nina) Brown III Maplewood, MN; and 11 great grandchildren. We will miss you Granny.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4PM-8PM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to Lee and Rose Warner Nature Center or March of Dimes.
