Born on June 12, 1903 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the youngest of 12 children of Josephine and Ole Stai, natives of Norway. Helene passed away peacefully on October 2, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harold. A graduate of Eau Claire Teachers' College and the University of Wisconsin, she taught elementary school for 9 years before her marriage. An active member of Olivet Congregational Church for 61 years, Helene served the community in many leadership roles. ine 1968-69 she was the Minnesota State President of PEO. She is survived by daughters, Nancy Jordan Fiene and Judy Jordan Hoerr. Helene was the beloved grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 10. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Olivet Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to: Olivet Congregational Church, The Music Fund, 1850 Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul, 55104.
