Blumberg, Henry Bernard July 22, 1917 - January 3, 2009 In Loving Memory Dr. Henry Blumberg, a Shoreview resident, died peacefully, in his sleep, in his Shoreview home of 52 years. He was born to Carrie Zimmerman and Reuben Blumberg in St. Paul, Minnesota, as one of 5 children. He was raised in St. Paul, attended University High School, then Northwestern University, then Medical School. He married Jeanne H. Collar, who preceded him in death by 5 years, during the time he served in WWII as a doctor. As an Internist, Henry will be remembered for his commitment to his patients and, particularly, those residing in nursing homes. He was very involved in nursing home care policy development in the early 1970s. After Henry retired from medicine in his mid-fifties, he began a real estate management business with his brother, which he never really retired from. He is survived by his younger brother, a daughter, a son and 3 grandchildren who love him dearly. Henry was the most kind-hearted & good-natured father and friend one could have ever hoped for. Thank you to everyone who helped Henry live the last years of his life, happily and respectively, in his own home, particularly Cherie, Christina, Flay, Sandy, Helen, Bob and Alan. A service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at SAINT ODILIA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3495 N. Victoria Street Shoreview, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. 678 South Snelling Avenue 651-698-3878
