Herbert LeRoy Berger
A celebration of Herbert LeRoy Berger's life will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 115 North 4th Street, Stillwater. Interment Fairview Cemetery. Visitation Friday, May 10, 2013, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5) and also one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on May 4, 2013.
Born in Dallas, WI in 1923, Herb graduated from Barron High School in 1941. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He started a career in plumbing in Barron in 1945. In 1949 Herb married Maxine Torgerson. They lived in Barron until they moved to Stillwater in 1959. He worked for various plumbing shops throughout the twin cities for Local Union 34. Herb retired in 1986 at age 63.
Herb enjoyed spending time with family and friends, skiing, riding his motorcycle, listening to music and reading. He had a strong faith and was always involved in church activities.
He is survived by his brother Mervin, children Steve (Kathy), Deb Wall (Tom), Bill, Denise Adams (Tony), Jim (Doreen), eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Otis and Esther Berger of Barron, his wife Maxine, and his sister Fran Zabel.
