Dr. Herbert E. Struss, age 72, of Stillwater, died January 16, 2003 at Greeley Health Center in Stillwater. Dr. Struss was born in New Jersey on February 1, 1930 to Herbert Otto and Helen (nee Schneider) Struss. Dr. Struss earned a Ph.D. in dairy science in 1960 and was an early developer of immune milk. Dr. Struss also served in the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Struss married Joanne (nee Ramstad) in 1956, who passed away in 1993. In 1996 he married Ardyce Anne (nee Nelson). Survived by wife Ardyce; children, Herbert Arthur (Jennifer), Greta (Kurt) Redmond, Stacy (Tim) Casey, Sara (Tony) Shore, and Tyler (Kris) Nelson; ten grandchildren; sister, Laura (Marv) Hage; and brother, Alan (Patricia). Service Tuesday, 11:00 AM at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 609 S. 5th Street at Walnut, Stillwater. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Grove, Minnesota. Visitation Monday 5-8 PM at BRADSHAW, 6061 North Osgood at Highway 36, Stillwater, and one hour prior to service at church.
