Howard Karkhoff

Passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 with family members present. Howard was born in Minneapolis on May 27, 1921 to Louise and Herman Karkhoff. He lived most of his 97 years in the same south Minneapolis neighborhood. Howard served in the Army during WWII and saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and eventually Europe. He married Lois Johnson of Lake Mills, Iowa on September 9, 1950. They were married for 64 years. Howard worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. He and Lois were avid golfers and enjoyed traveling. He was loved and greatly respected by family members. Preceded in death by his loving wife, parents and brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Harold and Lawrence. Howard is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service to honor Howard will be held at NORTHEAST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2510 Cleveland St. NE, MPLS on December 8, 2018 at 11AM with a Visitation beginning at 10:30AM. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery on December 10, 2018 at 10:30AM
