Plahn, Howard L.
Of Highland Park
8-18-1909 to 3-26-2004
Howard was independently living in the house he built in the mid forties until a recent illness led to his peaceful death. He was born in the Frogtown area of St. Paul and went on to become an electrical engineer with NSP before his retirement. Howard was a longtime member of the SCCA and a 32nd Degree Mason. He had a zest for life that led to his participation in a broad range of activities including speed skating, sailboat racing, sports car and motorcycle racing, as well as scuba diving. In addition, he led family adventures that included snow skiing, water skiing, boating, camping and canoeing. His curiosity led to extensive family travel. His wife, Gail, preceded Howard in death in 1995. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Susan; son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Deb; grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily and Derek; and surrogate grandchildren, Emalee and Laura. He was an original ?settler? in Highland Park. To him the neighbors were special friends and extended family. Memorial service to celebrate Howard?s life will be held Sunday, 1:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW, 678 South Snelling at Eleanor. Family will receive friends following the service.
