Ione Lavonne DeBauche

Age 87 of Maplewood, formerly of Oakdale

Passed away on December 15, 2024. She spent her last few days listening to country western music and squeezing her family's hands. Ione was born in Goodrich, MN on May 16, 1937. She owned Ione's Café in Duluth, MN and managed several other restaurants in Duluth before moving to St. Paul. She retired from Midway Bank but continued to cook for Presbyterian Homes and cater for the Sheraton Hotel. She worked until she was 80 years old.

Ione is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Thilda Burstad; son, Kenneth Wallin; siblings, Eunice Hanson, Robert Burstad, Ordell Bergdahl, Gordon Burstad, Greg Burstad, Rueben Burstad, and Ruby Burstad.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Sandy) Anich, Debby (Alex) Pelkey; step children, Jim (Jean) Anich, Linda (Doug) Freeman; grandchildren, Christy Costello, Lance Hunt, Jennifer Anich, Jessica Anich; numerous step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Tieran Hunt, Hollis Costello, Adrienne Anich Smith; brother, Terry Burstad; sisters-in-law, Carleen, Lois, and Darlene Burstad.

Memorial Service 11am Friday, February 7th at Bradshaw, 1078 Rice Street, St. Paul, with visitation beginning one hour prior.

Interment at Union Cemetery in Maplewood, MN.
