He is survived by wife Betty, children Janet (Bruce) Johnson, Jerry, Carol (Paul Cousin), and Sally (Craig) McCarney, eight grandchildren, a brother, Don, and nieces and nephews. 

Jack was born in Rochester, Minnesota to Helen (Haber) and Henry Dallman. He was raised in St. Charles and Rochester. He was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. In 1943 he was drafted into the army and served as a medic in the 78th Lightning Division, which fought on the European front, including the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest. He was awarded the Purple Heart in 1945. 

Jack earned his chemical engineering degree from the U of M in 1948. He worked for Standard Oil of Ohio, in Cleveland. There he met Minnesotan Betty Jane Lindquist, who worked as a secretary in Cleveland. In 1953 Jack was transferred to Toledo. Jack and Betty were married in 1954 and moved to Cloquet, MN. Jack was staff engineer at the Conoco oil refinery in Wrenshall, MN and was promoted to plant manager in 1966. They raised their four children in Cloquet. When the refinery closed In 1981 he accepted a transfer to Houston, TX, and then Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he retired in 1985. 

In retirement, Jack and Betty enjoyed living on Lake Vermilion and being involved in the Cook and Virginia communities. The Cook Lions Club honored Jack with the Melvin Jones Fellow award for his decades of volunteer service. In 2010 Jack and Betty moved to Waverly Gardens in North Oaks.

A service will be held at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Rd, on Friday, January 24th, at 2 pm, visitation at 1:30. 

The family would like to thank Optage Hospice and the Waverly Gardens staff.

Memorials preferred to the Red Cross and Optage Hospice.
