JACK WARREN RODDY
Age 91
Passed away September 25, 2012. Jack grew up in Minneapolis and was born November 3, 1920. He graduated from Minneapolis South High School in 1939. He attended both the University of Minnesota and Notre Dame University. While at the U of M, Jack played football for the Gophers in 1939 & 1940. During World War II, Jack served honorably for both the United States Marine Corps and the US Navy. After the war, Jack entered the grain business and worked for Pillsbury, Peavey, and Con Agra companies until his retirement in 1985.
Jack is survived by dearly beloved wife, Claire. They were sweethearts for 64 years. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Delores Nelson; sisters-in-law, Joanne Roddy, Marian Carlson, and June Polo; dearly beloved children, Jill Stang, Jack Roddy, and Walter Roddy; daughter-in-law, Gaye Roddy; son-in-law, Howard Stang; dearly beloved grandchildren, Becky, Eric and Danny Stang, Jennifer, Jon and Sarah Roddy; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jack's hobbies included golf and fishing at his cabin at Lake Vermillion, MN.
Jack was buried with full military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on October 1, 2012.
