James Commander

Age 79 of White Bear Lake Township. Survived by his son, Lance Commander (wife; Sonja), and his four grandchildren, Mackinley and Kari Commander and Malin and Peyton Ek.  Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Donna Commander, and his daughter, Michelle Commander-Ek. Jim was born in San Diego, California and graduated from Arcadia High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after graduation and served four years.  His career was spent in the technology industry (Control Data, Sperry Univac). He retired from Unisys as Sr. VP overseeing Roseville, Salt Lake City, and Santa Clara operations. A notorious jokester, Jim loved spending time with family and friends, particularly when he could put on his captain’s hat and take them cruising on the lake. He was well loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held August 6, from 2-4 PM, at the BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake.
