James Edward Lindsay Sr.
Age 80; of Saint Paul, Minnesota
James was born to Charles Lindsay Jr. and Geneva Carol (King) Lindsay on April 4, 1942 in Shinnston, West Virginia. After his mother passed, he was raised by his loving step mother Elaine Barnes "Billie" (Burns) Lindsay. In April of 1960 he joined the Army and traveled to many locations across the US and overseas. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class and earned a Bronze Star for his service, retiring after 21 years. James then moved to Minnesota with his wife, Lori Jo (Rein) Lindsay, where he remained until his death on February 16, 2023.
James was a huge fan of horror movies and reading, his favorite author being Stephen King.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lori Jo; his parents, Charles Jr. and Geneva; his step mother Elaine "Billie"; and siblings, Joetta Marple, Gerry Lindsay, and Terry Lindsay.
He is survived by his 5 children, Geneva (Ken) Zellefrow, James Jr. (Beverly), Donald, Laura (Adam) Kurtz, and Cletus (Moonjay); 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Virginia Schneider, Janet Lutes (Larry), Vicki Marts, Sylvia Ruth Taylor, Wendy Lindsay, Roger Lindsay (Karen), Beverly Jones, and Sheila Dorsey (James); and countless more family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, March 3 at 1:30 pm, where Jim will be laid to rest with military honors. An informal gathering for those in attendance to follow.
