Janice Anne (Alford) Bressoud
Died on March 22, 2023 with over 36 years of sobriety. She was born May 2, 1946 and grew up in Saint Paul.
A 1964 graduate of Central, she worked at Saint Paul-Ramsey (Regions) Hospital until 1982 when she enrolled at the University of Minnesota. She met her future husband, David, at the campus Episcopal Center in 1983 when he was a visiting professor at the U. She joined him in Pennsylvania in 1984, and they were married in 1985. In 1994 they returned to Saint Paul when David accepted a position at Macalester College.
Jan served on the altar guild of St. Paul's-on-the-Hill Episcopal Church and volunteered at the food shelf of Interfaith Action of Saint Paul.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother John Alford; nieces, Maren and Kari; and numerous cousins.
Funeral will be at St. John the Evangelist, 60 Kent Street N, Saint Paul on Saturday, April 22 at 11am.
Donations in her honor can be given to Center for Victims of Torture or Breath of Hope Lung Foundation.
