Janice Hintz

March 11, 1940 — November 24, 2024

Janice Marie Hintz, of White Bear Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 84, following a long battle with dementia.

Jan was born on March 11, 1940, in St Paul, MN. She lived in Toffee, MN most of her early years, moving back to the cities after she graduated.

She met Jerry while he was working at the Sun Ray Red Owl and she was shopping with her mom. They were married in July, 1962 and raised 2 daughters. Later they had 4 grandchildren.

Jan enjoyed her work at Lino Lakes Elementary School as a Media Clerk. Her love of reading and knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System was on full display. Some of Jan's hobbies and favorite things were her 2 daughters, her grandchildren, and later her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, working with Jerry in the garden shop. She also liked crafts of all kinds and decorating, with which she had a special touch. Jan enjoyed special trips she and Jerry were able to take, even if it was just a car ride to a planned destination. And of course, she collected all things pigs.

Jan is survived by her loving spouse of 62 years and long term dedicated care giver, Jerome Hintz; two daughters, Kim, Amy (Jay); grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan (Mal), Lonna (Kaleb), Ramona; 5 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Clark Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Curtis and Jeanette Burns; brother, Curtis Burns; and sister, Barbara Cummins.

The family wants to thank the staff at the Waters of White Bear Lake, for their Love and care of Jan during her final week of life.

Also thank you to Grace Hospice for allowing her to be cared for in her home at end of life.

Memorial Service at St Andrew's Church of Mahtomedi at a later date.
