Survived by mother, Phyllis; brothers, Joel (Connie), Jeff and Jon; nieces, Kelly Simon (John) and Kacey Wyttenhove (Dustin Hruby); nephew, Zack Wyttenhove (Marissa) and great-niece, Avery Simon. Jay grew up in Waconia, MN serving in the Army upon graduating from high school. He worked most recently in the security business as a security guard and loved his job at US Bank Stadium. He enjoyed the interactions with people while having the opportunity to see great musical and sporting events. Jay enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a huge Minnesota sports fan - Twins, Vikings, Gophers and Timberwolves. A favorite past time for Jay was the racetrack, and he was the family go-to handicapper whenever there was a big race to be bet. Jay was a people person, a "character" with a great sense of humor who was so easy to talk to and have fun with. A really big guy with a soft, easy going heart who will be deeply missed by all of us. A gathering and service to celebrate Jay's life will be held on Thursday November 30, 2017 at the Minneapolis Veterans Home - Chapel of Hope, located at 5101 Minnehaha Ave So, Minneapolis.
