With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jean K. Weyandt, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend on July 11, 2022, age 88.  Jean is preceded in death by sisters Yvonne (Bonnie) Mulvihill, Barbara Sukut and Sandra (Sandy) Barton; Roger Weyandt, former spouse and father of their ten children.

Jean is survived by children Mike (Patricia), Steve (Lori), Ken (Laurie), Gloria (Tom McInerney), Chris (Mary), Peter, Paul (Patti), Monica (Jeff Hoekstra), Kathleen (Jim Jackson) and Richard (Kathy); Grandchildren David (Danielle), Molly Shemberger (Matt), Kelly, Luke, Hannah Hicks (Jim), Naomi, Corinne Murray (Jon), Dan (Marlys), Joe, Lauren McInerney, Jamie Kocourek (Tim), Sean McInerney, Carl, Roger (Cassie), Peter (McKenzi), Donald (April), Frances Bakke (Ben), Saakje Fossand (Jack), Rutger, Victoria, Maggie Heller (Brian), Dana Jackson, Erin Thoennes (Ian), Mark Jackson, Julia, Max, and Anna; 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; brother Kenneth (Kathy) Huntley and sisters Maxine (Nick) Omdahl and Kathy (Mike) McElwain.

Jean will be remembered for her playful spirit, quiet strength and humility, profound wisdom and razor-sharp intuition as a hard-working mother of ten children. Jean adored God’s creation and passed down her love of nature to her children and grandchildren.

Jean had an unshakeable faith and was a devoted servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  In the last decade of her life, Jean was cared for by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Residence (St. Paul), to whom her family will forever be indebted.  At the family’s request, memorials received will be donated to this remarkable ministry and its commitment to the dignity of human life.  Jean’s last words were, “Be brave. That’s what life is.”
