Jeanie Davis Pullen of White Bear Lake passed away August 16. She was an educator, author, and speaker with an advanced degree in gifted education. She dedicated her life to nurturing creativity and talent in people of all ages.
For 20 plus years, Jeanie served as director of the North Suburban Summer Academy for High Potential Students, a large summer institute for gifted children in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. She authored the parenting book Life Teachings: Raising a Child that gives practical insights for raising gracious, curious, and engaged children.
Jeanie created and taught a mentoring program for gifted high school seniors, Mentor Connection, and also instructed graduate courses at the University of St. Thomas. And, she fostered creativity through her leadership and directing positions in theater at Lakeshore Players and through her orchestration of successful ?murder mystery weekends?, one of which was the subject of a French TV documentary.
Jeanie grew up in Henderson, KY and graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and later the University of St. Thomas. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Pullen, and raised two daughters with him. She was an avid and adventurous traveler.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael, her two daughters, Lara Pullen of Oak Park, IL and Julie Pullen of Pacific Grove, CA, and four grandchildren, as well as three sisters and two brothers.
Jeanie?s memorial service followed by visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 23 at BRADSHAW 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Hwy 96, White Bear, MN 55127.
