Jerry Burnett

Jerome "Jerry" Burnett, age 86 of Stillwater MN, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 after battling kidney disease for some time.

Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter Julie Eder and siblings Hartland "Smiley" Burnett and William "Bill" Burnett. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Susan Burnett nee Peterson; son Jay Burnett; sisters Susan (Dale) Hanson and Beverly Bartz; brother Tom (Sandy) Burnett; extended family and many friends.

Jerry grew up in Bayport, MN before settling in Stillwater where he spent most of his adult life. He joined the Army National Guard while attending Stillwater High School. After graduation, Jerry enlisted in the Navy and spent the next four years sailing the seven seas on the aircraft carrier USS Essex. He took great pride in his military service.

Jerry was passionate about his golf game, enjoying his time both on and off the course and was a life member at the Stillwater Golf Club. He was a supporter of veterans' organizations and enjoyed spending time with friends at the local VFW, American Legion and the Elks Lodge. Many special memories were made as he and Susan traveled far and wide with family and close friends, exploring the West Indies, China, Alaska and Mexico and enjoying many road trips within the U.S.

His quick wit and charm will be long remembered by those that knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to join the open house visitation held at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater, on Monday April 7th from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, T2T.org.
