Bendickson
Joan Margaret (nAC.e Crisham)
Died August 21, 2017, aged 85. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and lived in Shoreview, White Bear Lake, and Vadnais Heights. After leaving her early career at the Emporium Department Store and 3M, she was always proud to be a mother and housewife. Joan was accomplished at needle arts depicting her favorite Minnesota birds, storybook characters, and holiday scenes. Young friends received gifts of her handmade, well-dressed dolls. She was an avid bird watcher and kept her feeders full throughout the year. Joan was a voracious reader of "who done its." and completing the most difficult of puzzles. Family and friends, especially her grandchildren, will remember her wit and storytelling.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Margaret (nAC.e Klassen); brother, Daniel "Spike"; and granddaughter, Julia Rose Bendickson. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Don; children, Mark, Joel, and Eric (Teresa); grandchildren, Justine, Graham, and Maria Bendickson; siblings, Nancy Hausauer (Jim), Patricia Crisham, and Wally Wescott; sisters-in-law, Joanne Crisham and Margaret Nesje, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Joan's family is thankful to the caregivers at Cerenity Senior Care and her in-home caregivers from Symphony Senior Home Care.
