ELLSWORTH

Joan J

Age 84

Of St. Paul

Passed away July 20, 2019 in the presence of her family. Born and raised in Seattle, Joan followed her husband to his family’s home in St. Paul. She spent a lifetime working in various aspects of the service industry, and raising her family and caring for relatives.

She is survived by her children, Roy (Rose) Ellsworth, Susanna Ellsworth, Dean Ellsworth, Hope Ellsworth; daughter-in-law, Lucinda Harmon; grandchildren, Daniel (Candice) Ellsworth, Joshua Ellsworth, Laura Ellsworth, Robert ('Rachael' ) Ellsworth, Raymond Ellsworth, Ryan Ellsworth, Erik (Melissa) Ellsworth, Tanna Ellsworth, Adam (Kelly) Ellsworth, David Gibson, Lewis Asfeld, Joanie Fellerman, Adrian (Michael) Hagen, Bridget Hockert; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Jameson, Ellie, Macey, Lariah, Brantley, Alexis, Abigail, Avery, Austin, Alicia, Amber, Austin, Anthony, Angelina, Ariana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and D’Alice; sisters, Irma, Edith and Hattie; son, Dale.

Though she was tiny, she was mighty. Joan was just as likely to climb the stairs at home on her hands as on her feet, and she was short and sweet. Joan loved chocolate and the smell of leather, but most of all she loved her grandbabies. Hers was a quiet faith, and Joan was always active in church and Bible studies. She had a particular passion for ministry at the Shakopee Women’s Prison.

Memorial service will be 11AM Saturday, August 3 at BRADSHAW, 1078 Rice Street, St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior.
