Passed away peacefully on May 1, 2019 at the age of 85, in White Bear Lake, formely Breezy Point, MN.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Clair 'Bud' Helvig, and parents Leslie and Isabel Tice.

Survived by loving children Scott (Debbie), Sandy Pramann, Steve Helvig; grandhildren, Brandon, Charlene, Michael (Sarah), Michele, Stephanie, Steven, and Samantha (Storm); great-grandchildren, Lilah, Henry, Clara, and Autumn.

Jo Ann was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN where she graduated from West High, class of 1950. She met the man of her dreams in a maternity ward while visiting her friend who would soon become her sister-in-law. Jo Ann and Bud married on April 7th, 1956.

During their 62 years of marriage, Jo Ann and Bud enjoyed taking the family on road trips to see the United States. They continued this tradition as a couple in their retirement years. Since 1967 Jo Ann and her family spent every summer weekend at the lake. She loved it so much she convinced Bud they should move there. In 1980 Bud and Jo Ann moved into the lake home they built on lake Ossawinnamakee near Breezy Point. They resided there for 30 years before moving in 2014 to White Pine Assisted Living in White Bear Lake, MN.

Jo Ann was a super mom before the term ever existed. She worked full time but managed to keep an immaculate home, was an excellent cook and still had time to be a cub scout den mother or pack the car to be ready to drive to the lake when Bud came home from work.

Jo Ann was a planner - whether is was the next home, meal, road trip, dinner party or doing something fun with the grandchildren. She had a quick wit, humorous stories and was always honest. She was truly the matriarch of the family.
