Of Stillwater, MN, formerly of St. Paul, John graduated from Mechanic Arts High School and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. John worked at 3M for 36 years as an IT manager. John was married to Pat (McNally) Barrett for 57 A½ years. He enjoyed family, cross-country skiing, woodcarving, canoeing, and travelling. John is survived by his wife, Pat, 3 sons, Matt (Anne), Steve (Tina), and Mike (Barb), and grandchildren Kristina, Dylan, Kian, Mairin, Kellan, Jack, and Sheana. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at CHURCH OF ST. MICHAEL, 611 South Third Street, Stillwater. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Monday, October 1, 2018, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater and also one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
