Age 65, of Lake Elmo. Went to be with Jesus on December 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by father, Arthur. Survived by wife, Vickie; children, Michael (Angie), Jim (Julie), Douglas (Stephanie) Friendt, Angie (Ernest) Friendt; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; mother, Lucille; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Bartizal; brother, Tom (Linda); mother-in-law, Marcella McLevish; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. John was a longtime member of North Heights Lutheran Church, active at Maranatha Church in Forest Lake, and was a member of Gideons International. A celebration of John's life will be Monday, 11am at NORTH HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH CHAPEL, 1700 Hwy 96, Arden Hills. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
